Johnny Depp volta às origens no filme “O Cavaleiro Solitário”. No longa-metragem que se passa em 1869 no Texas, Depp interpreta o índio “Tonto”. Para quem não sabe, o ator de 50 anos tem sangue indígena e aceitou o papel no filme para mudar a imagem dos índios americanos, segundo ele, os nativos americanos são maltratados por Hollywood desde que o cinema existe. O filme da Disney gira em torno da parceria entre John Reid (Armie Hammer) e Tonto(Depp).
John é um advogado que teve seu irmão e companheiros de viagem que caçavam o perigoso bandido canibal Butch Cavendish (William Fichtner) assassinados, Tonto encontra John a beira da morte no deserto, e acredita que John foi escolhido por um mensageiro espiritual e que como voltou da morte, não pode mais ser morto. A partir de então John passa a usar uma máscara e viaja com Tonto para caçar Cavendish e vingar a morte do irmão.
O filme estreou no Brasil dia 12 de julho e desde então está em cartaz nos cinemas.
