A formação não é original, mas o Sublime continua contagiando e enchendo seus fãs de alegria. Com abertura do trio Dirty Heads, a banda invadiu a lona do Circo Voador em plena quarta-feira, com muito ska, reggae e surf music de primeira qualidade. Intitulado de Sublime With Rome, após a entrada do novo vocalista, mostra que o nome mudou, mas as raízes continuam as mesmas.
Com um repertório que mesclou clássicos e novas canções do álbum “Yours Truly”, o Sublime With Rome fez o público cantar do início ao fim do show. A noite começou com “Date Rape” fazendo a galera sair do chão e depois foi só alegria. A banda também fez um cover inusitado da música “Drain You“ do Nirvana, que empolgou ainda mais a ‘rodinha’ da lona carioca.
Rome desempenha seu papel com empolgação contagiante e extremo respeito pela obra do original vocal Bradley Nowell, que morreu de overdose de heroína em 1996. O retorno da banda após 13 anos, já passou por mudanças na formação com a saída do baterista original Bud Gaugh, substituído por Josh Freese, fazendo de Eric Wilson o único membro original da banda nesse momento. A nova formação também conta com um DJ, cujo som apenas acrescente alguns efeitos eletrônicos nas músicas.
Mesmo com passar dos anos, o SKA do Sublime continua sendo um dos melhores já feitos. O último disco “Yours Trully”, já feito com Rome, tem uma pegada mais light, quase reggae, mas ao vivo o ritmo do SKA que agitou a noite.
Para encerrar e deixar o público com gostinho de quero mais, o bis embalou todos com “Santeria” “Panic” e “What I Got”, onde o falecido vocalista foi homenageado por Rome: “Rest in Peace Bradley!”. Esse foi o único momento em que o passado do Sublime foi citado no show. Quem não conhece a história da banda, mal sabe que Eric Wilson é o único remanescente, já que o baixista não manifestou nenhuma interação com o público até o final do bis onde disse apenas que foi bom estar ali.
